A heat interrupter deflector assembly is standard on all except the smallest iron in this series. Ergonomic studies have shown that in-line irons require the use of entire arm, whereas with hatchet-style, all work is done by forearm which effectively reduces operator fatigue. The assembly comprises three discs separated by spacing rivets. Hatchet irons, invented by Hexacon, reposition the of gravity closer to hand producing less turning moment on wrist and shoulder.
