It was that way when I purchased the unit. The solder in the pot is all rhos compliant SAC305. It has never contained any leaded solder. I purchased it brand spanking new.
Oh yeah, the front of the knob is broken but it doesn't affect the performance at all. Included in this offer is approximately 1 pound of the SAC305 sitter which includes two un melted bars and whatever is in the pot. Yes it is used but it was really only used it one time and that was one time enough just to heat the solder that you see in the pot.
